Week beginning 23 October 2025 –

I’m being lazy. I’d already posted 23/10/25 but it makes sense for the weeks to start on a Monday, I might get around to tidying this up, but for now see the standalone post.

Seven Six Days of Clarity: A Tarot Journey Through Creativity and Chaos

I use using daily tarot draws not as a fortune-telling tool, but as a lens for my personal journal reflections, and the past (almost) week (October 23rd – November 1st) provided a fascinating map of my creative and emotional landscape. The cards helped me navigate the tension between my ‘slow life’, building a crochet business, ongoing technical woes, and necessary self-care.

Here is the thread of insight I found, day by day:

Day 1: October 24th – Three of Pentacles (Collaboration/Skill)

The Insight: This card arrived as I was physically committing to my workspace (new ergonomic equipment). It instantly grounded my thoughts amidst the rising tide of AI discussions: AI will never replace the heart and skill of crochet. My craft is a completely owned, personal achievement. The Three of Pentacles encouraged pride in my technical skill and effort, fueling my work on a post about the therapeutic, almost activist, power of the hook and yarn. Despite a burgeoning cold forcing an early rest, the day was marked by tangible satisfaction.

Day 2: October 25th – King of Swords (Clarity/Order)

The Insight: A forced rest day surprisingly cleared the mental fog. The King of Swords demanded order and analytical thought. I stepped back and treated Indie Heart Crochet like an old administrative job, reviewing action plans and evaluating priorities. This card was a call to harness sharp communication and analytical thinking to slice through the jumbled ideas and embrace a structured approach to the chaos—a welcome break from swirling, unorganized creative energy.

Day 3: October 26th – Queen of Pentacles (Nurturing/Resourcefulness)

The Insight: A beautiful day aligning personal wins (my free pattern hitting Ravelry’s top 20 debut patterns) with nurturing tasks (the arrival of my grand-puppy, Benji). Resourcefulness was key: swiftly fixing a convoluted pattern link on my website, thanks to a reader’s message. The Queen reminded me to nurture both projects and relationships, simplifying my approach and reaching out to friends. It was a day dedicated to integrity and grounded success.

Day 4: October 27th – The Lovers (Choice/Commitment)

The Insight: Benji’s company surprisingly amplified a sense of loneliness, forcing a confrontation with my well-protected aloneness. The Lovers card gently nudged me to analyze a deep-seated pattern: while I’ve mastered self-improvement, I actively avoid the emotional risk required to invite a partner into my life. The commitment I needed to make was to love itself and for myself. For now, that love is being channeled into pure, exciting crochet creation and embracing the wonderful wonkiness of my bags!

Day 5: October 28th – The Star (Hope/Inspiration)

The Insight: Waking early to a clear, starry sky brought a surge of creative inspiration. The Star gave me permission to step away from frustrating, mundane technical problems (website issues) and embrace “Fantasyland.” It affirmed the need to let everything slide and focus on pure, unadulterated creativity. This was a powerful reminder that I choose the light and the “new me,” actively dampening old negative thought patterns to focus on hope, healing, and illumination.

Day 6: October 29th – Page of Swords Reversed (Vigilance/Blockage)

The Insight: Drawn in the restless hours past midnight, the reversed Page reflected an internal vigilance and blockage I couldn’t articulate. It was a fearful clinging to my inner thoughts, keeping my mind shut. The writing itself became the release, a slow process of gently teasing apart the tension. The card led me to appreciate small, beautiful things—like the wind-dancing autumn leaves—a powerful counterbalance to the feeling of being unnecessarily “on guard.”

Day 7: October 30th – Ace of Pentacles (New Opportunity/Fresh Start)

The Insight: This Ace was the culmination of the past few weeks: a solid decision to rebuild my website from scratch. I finally accepted that my current setup wasn’t serving me. The Ace of Pentacles encouraged trusting in this situation, applying hard-earned knowledge to manifest a clean slate, and trusting in the fresh start. This physical commitment to opportunity was amplified by an unrelated application to a month-long pop-up shop, forcing me to shift into a more business-minded gear.

Bonus Reflection: November 1st – Seven of Wands

The Ace of Pentacles energy flowed directly into this powerful card. The warrior, outnumbered but standing firm, perfectly encapsulated my renewed resolve. The final insight was profound: the greatest difficulty I was fighting was a website that looked too generic and polished. The Seven of Wands provided the courage and conviction: Operation Wonky at my website, here I come. I am ready to stand my ground and make Indie Heart Crochet authentically imperfect.
