The Chariot: Full Steam Ahead on the Journey of Self

6th of October: A Day of Unstoppable Momentum

Full Steam Ahead

The Chariot. Yay. Full steam ahead. Today is the 6th of October, and the energy of this card is palpable, guiding my steps and settling my mind. I woke up at 8:45 a.m.—a rare luxury— I was wide awake between between 1.00 and 4.00 a.m though, using the time productively working in bed and listening to some podcasts.

With my soft launch just a week away, I could easily feel overwhelmed. Instead, I feel a quiet, profound confidence. I’ve found that in my journey, things still occasionally click into place, and I am immensely grateful for those moments of clarity and unexpected alignment.

Yes, it might take me ten times as long these days to complete a task, but the satisfaction when I finally finish or work out the answer to a complex problem is ten times greater. It’s a feeling I no longer take for granted. This journey has taught me the true value of persistence.

Embracing the Iconography of The Chariot

Today, I truly embody the spirit of The Chariot. I feel like I’m on track, driven, and purposeful.

I’m particularly drawn to the stars on the card. They represent aspiration and destiny; I feel as though I was reaching for those very stars, and now they are within my grasp. My own mighty orb, my crochet hook, feels like a potent symbol of creation and focus.

The card’s symbolism offers important reminders:

  • The Yin Yang: Displayed on the shield, it’s a potent reminder to be careful, maintaining balance. All things in balance will ultimately lead to all things in harmony.
  • The Half Moons: On the figure’s shoulders, they signify that two halves make a whole, underscoring the necessity of integration. Fittingly, today is a full moon, amplifying the energy of completion and culmination.
  • The Luscious Green: The grass speaks of the richness of nature, reminding me how lucky I am to witness the glory of the trees and the magnificent sunshine from this very seat where I write my journal.

The Challenge of Balance: Self-Love and My Garden

The glorious green, however, also serves as a gentle reminder of my neglected garden. The gardening jobs have barely been touched this year. They are exhausting and require a dexterity and strength that I simply no longer possess.

To truly practice self-love, and to truly love my garden, I must overcome whatever resistance—pride, perhaps—is holding me back. The Chariot’s movement isn’t just about driving forward; it’s about choosing the right path and leveraging resources wisely. In this case, that means prioritising the budget to pay someone to come in and do a couple of hours of garden tidy-up for me. True strength is knowing when to delegate.

Strength, Wisdom, and Drive

The core feeling I receive and reflect today is one of bravery and strength—or, more accurately, the wise use of my available strength. I know I am not as physically strong as I once was, but when the moment calls for it, as it does today, I can gather my mental and emotional resources and plough on through. The promise to myself is clear: achieve today, and tomorrow I will rest. Perhaps tomorrow’s card will be the Four of Something!

My own reading is deeply affirmed by the wisdom of others:

I’ve estimated I have a good hour or two of high-quality energy left in me, and I intend to use it wisely, harnessing the focused, determined energy of The Chariot to propel my work forward. The journey continues.
